A European-woven performance linen weave, with the look of linen and the wear of a technical textile: 95% polyester, 5% linen, 520 g/m², with a water-repellent finish so a spill sits on top long enough to blot.
It's rated to 50,000 Martindale abrasion cycles, which is the standard for heavy-duty commercial upholstery, and woven tight rather than looped, so claws don't snag the way they do on loops or bouclé.
Underneath, the base panel is a suede-like fabric in the same color, so the bed is one color from every angle. It grips a wood floor on its own, so the bed holds its place when your dog steps on and off. No rubber dots to peel away.
Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, zipped closed. No bleach and no softener; softener coats the fibers and dulls the water-repellent finish. Line dry or lay it flat. No iron, no dry cleaning.
Between washes, a vacuum with the upholstery tool or a rubber brush takes the hair off in a minute. Blot spills rather than rubbing them.

Lay the cover on the floor, unzipped and open. Set the foam on it with the indent of the foam lined up with the indent of the cover, pull the edges of the cover up all around, and zip it closed. Fit it dry; a damp cover is much harder to get on. The full guide.
